1. Bretton Woods has the best snow in New Hampshire
. We receive over 200 inches of snow a year, and because of our location “above the notches” the snow stays cold and dry - which means more powder and less ice! Our downhill ski area is the largest in New Hampshire and includes a great variety of terrain from well-groomed cruisers to expert drops and steep glades. There are so many trails on the mountain that it is impossible to do them all in one day. Our cross-country skiing area is one of the largest in the Northeast and features spectacular views of the Presidential Range. There are also endless possibilities for skiing and snowshoeing in the surrounding National Forest.

2. Mt. Washington Place has the best location in Bretton Woods. We are on the south-facing side of the valley just across from the ski area. This means lots of sunshine, escape from the ski-area bustle, no noise from snow guns or groomers, and the best views of the ski area and Crawford Notch. A door-to-door, on-call resort shuttle will take you to the ski area in less than five minutes, and all resort facilities are within a 15-minute walk or a few minutes drive.

3. Bretton Woods is a four-season outdoor paradise. The ski season stretches from November to April. From May to October you can golf at the world-class Mt. Washington course – a Brian Silva renovation of the original Donald Ross design - or at the Mt. Pleasant course. You can play tennis at Mt. Washington Place’s own court or the Mt. Washington Hotel clay courts. You can hike (see below), mountain bike, road bike, go flatwater or whitewater kayaking, fish in the Ammonoosuc River, or just relax and enjoy the splendid vistas. Nothing beats our fall colors!
